Suge Knight Faces Felony Charges Over Domestic Dispute

This has not been Marion “Suge” Knight’s year. First he lost his label, Death Row Records, in a bankruptcy auction. Then he sued Kanye West over a diamond earring lost at the rapper’s 2005 pre-VMA party. And late Friday, the Clark County, Nevada, district attorney’s office decided to file two felony drug charges and one misdemeanor battery charge against Knight.

The charges stem from an incident in which police allege that they witnessed Knight beating his girlfriend while holding a knife over her in a parking lot near the Las Vegas Strip on August 27. The drug charges are related to Knight’s alleged possession of ecstasy and hydrocodone on the night of the incident.

According to TMZ, Knight is alleged to have punched his girlfriend of three years, Melissa Isaac, in the back of the head while they were driving around the city. She then reportedly grabbed the wheel of the vehicle and forced it into a curb. As she ran from the car, Knight gave chase. Police arrived as Knight was allegedly running after Isaac, and they told TMZ they witnessed the former UNLV defensive end kick Isaac in the head.

The Associated Press reports that Isaac — whom police allegedly found naked by the side of the road during the incident, according to a previous TMZ report — was not stabbed, but was treated at a local hospital for unspecified injuries. Knight was released on $19,000 bail after his arrest.

A spokesperson for the Clark County district attorney’s office could not be reached for comment at press time.

WCW | New Esinchill | “Soul Of The City”

It’s obvious by the way he spits that Oakland native Esinchill is in grind mode. “Soul of the City,” a track from his forthcoming album, Vigilante, embodies the struggle, the fight and the ultimate prize that comes from the dedicatoin and committment it takes to succeed. Along with Chicago crooner Dave Hollister, who deliversa an infectious hook, he represents the underdog and does it damn well.

Look forward to more tracks from Esinchill on KS and a RYZE feature in the coming months.

Shouts to RCeason. Let’s get it folkers…

WCW | Suge Knight Sues Kanye West For $135K

Suge Knight is reportedly suing Kanye West for a gun shot wound and robbery he suffered during a pre-MTV Video Music Awards celebration in August of 2005. The official court documents also alleges conversion, blaming West for the incident as he should have seized control of the armed robber or prevented the robbery/shooting from happening in the first place.

“As the hosts of the Party, Kanye West and G.O.O.D. Music also owed the guest of the Party a duty to maintain the Party premises in a reasonably safe condition,” the suit reads. “While at the Party, shortly after midnight at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2005, Mr. Knight was in a VIP room at The Shore Club, where he was shot in the upper right leg. Mr Knight did nothing to provoke the shooting, and he is unaware of who shot him and why he was shot.”

The suit continues:

“Mr. Knight is informed and believes and based thereon alleges that the earring had a reasonable fair market value of $135,000. Mr. Knight is informed and believes and based thereon alleges that the male employee, who found but failed to return the earring to Mr. Knight either directly himself or through defendants, had the intention and purpose of converting the earring to his own personal benefit and actually did so.”

Suge’s been in the news for all the wrong reasons this year and this is no exception. That bitch Karma ain’t no joke!!

No court date has been set at this point.

WCW | Suge Knight Has Stashed 2pac Recordings?

The rumor mill is brewing with Suge Knight tales again and this time it’s his associate’s old fling who seems to be doing all the telling. According to one source, the label that acquired Death Row months ago – Global Music Group – was informed that Knight and his long time associate, Carl “Butch” Small, hid music so as to not include it in the sale of the label.

Michael j. Collesano, the attorney for GMG was sought out by Small’s scorned lover, whom he allegedly attacked in October. The young lady, whose identification is being protected, revealed to officials in Detroit, Michigan earlier this month sometime after the attack.

Small is said to have run Death Row’s studios duing its heyday and was once listed as one of the label’s principals.

WCW | B-Fly | “B For Real” (Mixtape)

You may or may not know the reason why The GAME will not appear on the Hip Hop Awards is because his little sister B-Fly was injured in a driveby car shooting. According to DJ Backside, who recently spoke to the rapper, she is doing fine and on the road to recovery. Her mixtape, which her brother Big Fase 100 told us about two weeks ago, is below and available for download.

WCW | Ice T Produces Iceberg Slim Documentary

Contrary to various reports, West Coast legend Ice T will not appear in a film adaptation of Pimp, a novel inspired by the life of Robert Beck AKA “Iceberg Slim.” Instead, Ice, along with Jorge Hinojosa and David Naylor, is currently piecing together a documentary that will explore the entire life of the former pimp whose rise from the street element to noted author/novelist, motivated countless individuals in and outside the entertainment industry.

“Iceberg Slim has been one of the most influential people in black culture,” Ice-T said. “Few people know the story behind the man and it’s time that story is told.”

In related news, Mos Def, Rihanna, Macy Gray and Anthony Anderson among others, are all set to appear in Mama Black Widow – another Iceberg Slim classic. Continue reading

WCW | Suge’s Ex Disappears | LV Police Stunned

The woman that Suge Knight reportedly beat the shit out of in the middle of the streets of Las Vegas has allegedly come up missing. Police sought to re-interview the woman, Knight’s ex-girlfriend, only to find out via her former neighbors that she has all but disappeared since the incident.

According to previous reports, the couple argued in the car before losing control and ultimately, the former Death Row Records head honcho stood over her with a knife as police officers arrived.

More on this as details develop.

Did Beyonce Steal “If I Were A Boy” From San Diego Prodigy BC Jean?

Faux News is reporting that Beyonce’s camp, namely Matthew Knowles, stole her new hit single, “If I Were A Boy” from a singer/songwriter who goes by the name of B.C. Jean. (BC is said to stand for “Beautiful Child.”) After hearing the 21 year old Southern Cali native’s version, it’s basically the same song and upon recovering a visual of her, it makes even more sense why the track sounds the way it does.

Not that it’s completely unbelievable for Bey to come up with something original as this, but it doesn’t exactly speak to her listeners as much as say “Deja Vu” or “Baby Boy.” Apparently there’s some sort of gag order preventing BC’s camp from speaking on the particulars at present, so we’ll keep you tuned in as updates are made available.

Beyonce’s video for said controversy

We’re hoping this is some kind of misunderstanding that will be cleared up in the next day or so, but for now you can hear BC’s version of “If I Were A Boy” at www.bcjean.net.
