Ok, so we’re a little late with this one, but just happened to stumble upon these pics today. Ironically, Ciara was the topic of discussion among a few of us earlier today and we’re seriously thinking about airing her out over that “Go Girl” song, which has THA BAY AREA and JIMMIE REIGN written all over it… But for purposes of this entry, which is to talk about how she “exposed” herself for a camera crew and others in attendance, we’ll stay on topic.
From what we’ve gathered, Ciara took all her clothes off at a shoot and wanted to imply “suggestive nudity” in her first cover shoot for her upcoming album – Fantasy Ride. The mission therein, as confirmed by VIBE EIC Danyel Smith (who happens to be from the Bay) was for Cici to express herself as an independent WOMAN, who’s carefree and in control of her private parts.
Everything was fine until sometime last week when the Sho’Nuff Princess decided she didn’t want people thinking she was a slore for posing nude. We happen to think the images are rather tasteful, but evidently she didn’t. So she threatened to sue VIBE for “airbrushing” her images and taking her clothes off for her, which Smith and many others at the shoot affirmed she did all by her lonesome.
It’s died down some, but Smith clarified VIBE’s position on the issue and more importantly, the magazine’s desire to please the pop star with this statement on vibe.com.
