Various sources have reported that multi platinum selling producer Dr. Dre has lost his 20 year old son who bears the same name. Andre Romelle Young Jr., apparently went out on Friday night and returned at 5:30 in Saturday morning. His mother found him unresponsive approximately five hours later, after which he was rushed to the hospital.
Young Jr., who went by the anonymous handle of “Hood Surgeon” AKA “Young Doc,” was following in his father’s footsteps as a producer and showed obvious potential prior to his untimely demise.
In March of 2007 he signed a record deal with Bay Area legend JT The Bigga Figga’s Get Low Records. His debut album, Son of a Doctor was being executive produced by Snoop Dogg and JT.
Andre Young Sr., who is currently working on his heavily anticipated final album, Detox, understandably has yet to comment on this devastating tragedy. A spokesperson for the legendary rapper/producer issued the following statement:
“Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. Please respect his family’s grief and privacy at this time.”
